Is it me or is there so many more franchises today versus 10 years ago. Relatively new on the scene is a sandwich shop called Firehouse Subs. When I was growing up it was McDonalds or Burger King. There were brawls over loyalty to McDonald's or Burger King. Times have surely changed, but I digress.
We went to Firehouse on Sunday after Church. We were thinking it wouldn't be crowded on a Sunday. Much to our surprise the place was crowded with lots of young families. It turns out kids eat for $.99 on Sunday. Nevertheless the place was well staffed and the crew worked quickly.
Becky had the Capt Sorensen's Datil Pepper Grilled Chicken. Maeve had the traditional Firehouse Meatball. I ordered the Hook and Ladder Light. All the sandwiches take a while to make so you know they are fresh. In the meantime they have a very unique soda dispenser where they have 120 different flavors. It makes for difficult decisions. Grape or Orange?
All of the sandwiches at Firehouse were served warm which makes for a good sandwich. We really enjoyed our lunch and highly recommend it if you are looking for a good quality sandwich. It is priced a little bit higher then Subway but for the extra dollars, the quality is better.
