With great trepidation we approached Mimi's after some pretty scathing reviews on Yelp. However looking back at the reviews a vast majority of them pertained to the time it get served. Pardon me but one shouldn't go to a Hibachi style dining expecting a quick in and out. These chefs are artists/entertainers who do a fantastic job with their skill.
We arrived early on a Saturday around 5:30pm. We were promptly seated at a hibachi with 5 other diners. We ordered a couple of drinks and patiently waited our turn as the chefs were working other tables.

Becky ordered the Shrimp. Maeve had the Terayaki chicken. I ordered the Chicken and Steak with fried rice and vegetables. When the chef arrived he started off with a few culinary tricks to get the table pumped up. The usual flipping of shrimp etc.. After the pregame festivities. he got right into it. He sliced and diced some vegetables and grilled them up. He followed that with skillfully cracking eggs as he made fried rice. While this was going on he prepared a few shrimp for everybody as a appetizer.
After the shrimp he started cooking the main courses for everybody. He did everything exquisitely as everything was done to perfection. We all enjoyed our meals and were very content.
Overall the food and service were excellent. I'm not sure what those Yelpers were complaining about. It must have at least 20 years when I last went to Hibachi so hopefully it won't be that long before we go again.
